Settings & Parameters
This chapter details all parameters in Video Magic, their meanings, functions, and best practices. These parameters are based on the powerful FFmpeg video processing engine, but presented in a user-friendly way.
Video Concatenation Parameters
Enable Concat
Purpose: Controls whether to enable video concatenation feature Use Case: Enable when creating split-screen effects or comparison displays
Concat Mode
Options:
- Horizontal: Display two videos side by side
- Vertical: Stack two videos top and bottom
Technical Notes:
- Horizontal mode: Videos scaled to same height, then horizontally concatenated
- Vertical mode: Videos scaled to same width, then vertically stacked
Concat Video Path
Purpose: Specify the video to concatenate with source video Supports Two Modes:
- Single File: Each source video concatenates with this file
- Folder: Randomly select video from folder to concatenate with each source video
Audio Processing Parameters
Add Background Music
Purpose: Add background music to videos Features:
- Background music automatically loops to match video length
- Automatically mixes with original video audio
- Music automatically cuts off when the main video ends
Background Music Volume
Parameter Range: 0-100% Recommended Settings:
- Minimum: 20-30%
- Maximum: 40-50%
Explanation: Software randomly selects a volume within the min-max range for each video
Adjust Volume
Purpose: Adjust original video volume Recommended Settings:
- Decrease volume: Min 60%, Max 80%
- Keep original: Min 90%, Max 100%
- Increase volume: Min 100%, Max 120%
Note: Volume exceeding 100% may cause audio distortion
Watermark Parameters
Media Watermark Settings
Watermark Position
Preset Positions:
- Top Left: 10 pixels from left and top edges
- Top Right: 10 pixels from right and top edges
- Bottom Left: 10 pixels from left and bottom edges
- Bottom Right: 10 pixels from right and bottom edges
- Center: Center of video
Custom Position: Precisely control watermark position by percentage (0%-100%)
Watermark Size
Recommended Settings:
- Corner watermark: 10-15%
- Prominent watermark: 20-30%
- Large watermark: 30-50%
Watermark Opacity
Parameter Range: 0-1 Recommended Settings:
- Subtle: 0.3-0.5
- Visible but not glaring: 0.5-0.7
- Clearly visible: 0.7-0.9
Scrolling Text Watermark
Text Content
Notes:
- Supports Chinese, English, numbers, and common symbols
- Special characters automatically escaped
- Keep text length reasonable
Font Size
Recommended Settings:
- 1080p video: 30-50
- 720p video: 20-35
- 480p video: 15-25
Scrolling Speed
Parameter Range: 1-20 Recommended Settings:
- Slow scroll: Min 3, Max 5
- Medium scroll: Min 5, Max 10
- Fast scroll: Min 10, Max 15
Subtitle Parameters
Hardcoded Subtitles
Purpose: Permanently embed external subtitle files into video Supported Formats: SRT (SubRip), ASS (Advanced SubStation Alpha)
Subtitle Font Size
Recommended Settings:
- 1080p video: 20-28
- 720p video: 16-22
- 480p video: 12-18
Video Effects Parameters
Fade In/Out Effects
Fade In Duration
Purpose: Time for video to gradually appear from black at the beginning Unit: Seconds Recommended Settings:
- Quick fade: 0.5-1 seconds
- Standard fade: 1-2 seconds
- Slow fade: 2-3 seconds
Fade Out Duration
Purpose: Time for video to gradually fade to black at the end Recommended: Similar to fade in duration
Video Speed Adjustment
Speed Range
Parameter Range: 0.5-2.0 Effect Description:
- 0.5: Playback speed halved (slow motion)
- 1.0: Normal speed
- 1.5: Playback speed increased by 50%
- 2.0: Playback speed doubled (fast forward)
Recommended Settings:
- Slight variation: 0.9-1.1
- Noticeable but natural: 0.8-1.2
- Significant effect: 0.5-1.5
Technical Processing:
- Video duration adjusted accordingly
- Audio speed-adjusted synchronously
- Implemented via setpts and atempo filters
Automatic Color Optimization
These parameters are automatically applied by the software:
- Brightness Adjustment: Auto range -0.05 to +0.05
- Contrast Adjustment: Auto range 0.95 to 1.05
- Saturation Adjustment: Auto range 0.95 to 1.05
- Sharpening: Auto range 1.0 to 1.2
- Denoising: Auto range 4 to 10
- Adding Noise: Auto range 1 to 10
Metadata Parameters
Metadata Processing Modes
Preserve
Purpose: Keep all metadata from original video unchanged Use Cases: Personal use, need to retain original information
Remove
Purpose: Delete all metadata information Use Cases: Protect privacy, remove sensitive information, publish to public platforms
Custom
Purpose: Set new metadata information Settable Fields:
- Title: Video name or title
- Artist: Creator or producer name
- Album: Collection or series name
- Date: Creation date (format: YYYY-MM-DD)
- Comment: Additional notes
- Copyright: Copyright statement
- Custom Fields: Can add any key-value pairs
Output Parameters
Output Path
Purpose: Specify save location for processed videos File Naming: Automatically generates unique filenames for each output video
Processing Count
Purpose: Set number of copies to generate for each source video Application Scenarios:
- 1: Only need one processed result
- 3-5: Need multiple slightly different versions
- 10+: Batch produce large amounts of unique content
Output Format
Default Format: Same as source video Encoding Settings:
- Video codec: Auto-select (usually H.264)
- Audio codec: Auto-select (usually AAC)
- Maintains original resolution
Parameter Combination Suggestions

- Scrolling text watermark (display contact info)
- Background music
- Slight speed variation (0.9-1.1)
- Remove metadata
Brand Content
Emphasize brand identity:
- Media watermark (Logo)
- Custom metadata (copyright info)
- Fade in/out effects
Tutorial Videos
Clear instructional content:
- Hardcoded subtitles
- Keep original audio (no background music)
- Preserve metadata
By properly configuring these parameters, you can precisely control video output effects. Next, view use case examples to learn about practical applications.
